Vicinitee Retail teams up with Silverburn

Comgenic Limited, part of the Vicinitee group, has been awarded a contract to deploy its Vicinitee Retail range of online retail management products at Glasgow's newest shopping destination, Silverburn.

Offering one million square feet of high quality retail and leisure space, the £350 million Silverburn centre is due to open in Autumn 2007.

Developer Retail Property Holdings Ltd has signed the deal with Comgenic to enable Silverburn - one of the largest retail centres in Scotland - to use the latest technology for the centre's management, security and marketing systems.

John MacEwan, a spokesman for Silverburn, said: 'Silverburn represents a new generation of shopping centre and Vicinitee Retail will be a key part in defining the look, style and atmosphere that reflects that status.'

At the heart of the Vicinitee Retail implementation at Silverburn will be the Web, Campaign and Touch products, providing an integrated and sophisticated content management system for marketing through the centre's website and touch-screen kiosks.

Vicinitee Retail Intranet will provide Silverburn's management and retailers with an online communication channel, giving fast and easy access to centre information, including operational procedures and management of website and kiosk content, as well as internal and external news and events.

Deployment of the React product will ensure that Silverburn's retailers can instantly, but discreetly, be alerted to security conditions such as lost children and retail theft, helping them to react appropriately and providing the security team with timely feedback.
