Vicinitee.com moves into Resi Sector

The pioneering website vicinitee.com - used as a property management and community tool in major commercial and shopping centre developments across the UK - is being rolled out into the residential market.

After a two-year development process, Vicinitee Ltd has drawn up the residential version of the online portal, targeted at managing agents, developers and other property professionals.

Launched in 2001 by Broadgate Estates Limited - a subsidiary of The British Land Company plc - vicinitee.com's commercial website has a particularly strong presence in the City of London, where it is used in buildings including 30 St Mary Axe, Paternoster Square and Plantation Place.

The retail version of the online portal is used at centres across the UK including Meadowhall in Sheffield and the new development Silverburn, in Glasgow.

Vicinitee Residential fits in with the dual property management and community role of its commercial and retail counterparts.

Property management modules streamline the day-to-day operations of prestige developments, including a fault-recording service, online helpdesk and visitor entry system - all cutting done on paperwork and offering a 'real time' service for maximum efficiency.

The community features will enable residential tenants and owners to log on to a password protected area, which includes an online concierge, as well as the booking of communal facilities such as barbeques and tennis courts. Live feeds for relevant travel information specific to the area and local deals from retailers, restaurants and other service providers, are also available.

New home welcome packs and the manuels to white goods can also be accessed on online.
