Major Shopping Centres Secure Latest Retail Technology

Specialist property and shopping centre software developer, Vicinitee Retail, has confirmed the completion of major projects with three of the UK's newest and highest profile shopping centres.

Liverpool One, Bristol's Cabot Circus and Leicester's Highcross are the latest in a series of high profile projects completed in 2008 by Vicinitee Retail, the UK's leader in integrated marketing and management software services for the shopping centre and property sector.

The three major projects follow other high profile projects including Sheffield's Meadowhall, Birmingham's Bullring and Silverburn, Glasgow's latest shopping destination.

Developed by shopping centre professionals for the retail industry, Vicinitee Retail is a suite of internet-based products that support, enhance and manage communications between the retail management team, retailers and shoppers.

The projects, to consult, design and install Vicinitee Retail's proprietary technology, see the innovative 'React' security product, 'Campaign' marketing product and 'Intranet', an internal communications system in place to enhance the centres' operations and commercial activities.

'React' is the latest technology to assist centres with its security issues including missing children, suspect packages and fire incidents. The new communication system helps speed up contact between centre management and retailers in a discrete manner without creating unnecessary panic in the centre.

'Campaign' creates targeted communications and shopping centre and retailer promotions using kiosk, email and text messaging (SMS) technology and, importantly, accurately tracks the effectiveness of every campaign. As a tool for data capture it also creates valuable databases of customers.

'Intranet', allows staff, retailers and management in each centre to swiftly share and exchange information and in turn helps make the tenant/centre management relationship work to its best. It also provides easy access to an online library of information including tenant handbooks, consumer research and marketing opportunities saving tenants and centre management time.
